manage Conflict and rekindle connection
couples counseling
I primarily use techniques from the Gottman Method in my couples counseling. This method is the result of decades of research conducted by the Gottmans. I like this method because it is holistic and is consistently effective. It focuses on increasing closeness and friendship, learning to address conflict constructively, and building shared meaning.
As a member of the queer community and a clinician experienced in working with LGBTQIA couples, I’m committed to creating an affirming, supportive space where all identities and relationship structures are welcomed. I also recognize how today’s political climate adds stress and complexity to queer relationships, and I work with couples to navigate these pressures.
I also have extensive experience supporting neurodiverse couples. I help partners understand how their different thinking styles, communication preferences, and sensory or emotional needs shape their dynamic, and how they can honor these differences while building a relationship that feels safe, supportive, and sustainable.
If you and your partner are polyamorous I would be happy to work with you and am familiar with poly dynamics, but at this time I cannot accomodate entire polycules because the techniques I currently use were developed for two people.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more, I would be happy to schedule a free consultation with you.
“Successful long-term relationships are created through small words, small gestures, and small acts.”
